In this review, we take a look at the copper Turkish coffee set from Bosphorus. This coffee set has been making waves ever since it came on the market so we wanted to figure out what all the fuss was about. 

And for once, the hype is actually pretty well-founded. This is, without a doubt, the most complete coffee set we’ve ever seen, and we are at a loss for anything bad to say!

What’s included in the Bosphorus Turkish coffee set?

This set comes with it all. You get a Turkish coffee pot, 2 coffee cups, 2 cup holders, 2 lids for the coffee cups, 2 saucers, a serving tray, 2 sugar bowls, 2 lids for the sugar bowls, and 2 packets of fine traditional Turkish coffee.

Bosphorus Turkish Coffee Set: Quality & Durability

Right off the bat, we knew we were in for a treat with this coffee set. That’s because, while it may be sold by Bosphorus, it was made by renowned copper craftsmen, CopperBull. 

And to give you a quick recap, CopperBull is one of our most well-reviewed brands in the ibrik coffee pot space, so it only follows that their coffee sets would also impress us. 

Materials

Here, you get thick, 2mm copper from CopperBull for the entire coffee set. We stress tested the heck out of this set, and none of the pieces experienced any bending or denting. Even in high heat, the copper resisted deforming and kept its shape. 

Moreover, the porcelain Turkish coffee cups are pretty durable and we didn’t exhibit any cracking or chipping when faced with piping hot water.

Inner Lining

The inner lining of the coffee pot is tin, so you don’t have to worry about any toxic metals making their way into the coffee. 

Cleaning/Washing

A dishwasher-safe rating would have been a great cherry on top of this coffee serving set, but no such luck. Only the coffee cups are dishwasher-friendly. 

Then again, we aren’t too bummed; it is a genuine handmade product after all, so careful hand-washing with less abrasive chemicals is pretty much par for the course. 

Capacity

The actual coffee pot that comes with this set measures in at just over 8 fl oz. That’s decent for a coffee pot, but on the high end for a pot included as part of a full set. 

In fact, it will hold over 2 full cups of coffee, making it perfect for serving a party of two. The cups themselves come in at around 3.3 fl oz, which is in line with cups in other coffee sets we’ve reviewed. 

Design

Like we mentioned, this coffee set is manufactured for Bosphorus by CopperBull. And besides the best-in-class durability and materials, it also benefits from CopperBull’s awesome design language.

Exterior Finish

The coffee pot sports a high gloss finish, which looks super premium. This pot has an integrated wooden handle and a spout that prevents you from burning yourself or spilling coffee while serving. 

The rest of the coffee set is treated to an antique copper look that contrasts the shiny pot really well. 

Special Features

Traditional patterns cover all of the different pieces in this coffee set. These were painstakingly carved into the copper surface by expert Turkish craftsmen, giving them an authentic feel. 

We like how the coffee cup lids have tiny minarets coming out from the top. This gives you a place to grab the lid, while also making for a unique look. The same goes for the cup holders, which have integrated handles that come in really useful when you’re enjoying a quick cuppa. 

As for the serving tray, the abstract patterns really stood out to us. There is almost something of a fine art piece in this tray, where every eye sees a different scene. 

Personally, our interpretation of this design was ‘vines on the forest floor’, but yours may vary. 

Price

No getting around it, folks. This is a pretty pricey coffee set. But when you consider how much stuff it includes, and how high the quality of each article is, the price starts to make sense. 

In fact, if you were to try and put together a similar set by sourcing all of the individual pieces yourself, you might end up paying almost twice as much! So to sum up, we think despite the hefty price, you’re getting your money’s worth, which is what really matters.

Additional Features

Like we said, this is the most complete coffee set we’ve seen in a while. As such, it comes with some extra goodies that really made our day. 

You get not one, but two sugar bowls with lids in this coffee set. One of these is larger and deeper than the other. 

The idea here is that you use one bowl for sugar, and then the other holds your choice of traditional side treat, such as Turkish delight, or even some candy. 

It also includes 2 packets of Turkish coffee from Mehmet Efendi. This is a coffee brand that has been brewing coffee since 1876 and makes some of the best coffee you can get. Getting a sample of this with the coffee set was a pleasant surprise!

Because it’s such an appealing Turkish coffee set, it fits in well with the décor in any house. So if you’re looking to spruce up your living room or dining room, this coffee set works well.

It’s also a great gift for that special someone in your life. The included samples of premium Turkish coffee also make this set one that any coffee enthusiast would love to get as a gift.

We said it at the top of this review, and we’ll say it again. The Bosphorus coffee set is one of the best coffee sets we’ve had the pleasure of reviewing. 

It includes all of the stuff you need, plus some really cool extras like the two sugar bowls, and the sample of premium coffee. 

You can’t really go wrong with this coffee set, though you will have to pay a bit more than the usual coffee set. 

In a nutshell, if you can deal with the higher price, there isn’t anything that should deter you from buying this Turkish coffee set.
